JILL'S FIRST GIG

Oh, happy day!

We're proud to announce that Auntie Jill's Sugar Cookies have officially graduated from family tradition to working cookie. Our little cookies have recently been hired to appear at the wedding reception of Jenell Horne and Andrew McCall as the esteemed wedding favors. It's a long way from holiday treat exchanges to weddings, so we've prepared to make a series of wedding favor practice batches to perfect the timing, and more importantly, the decorating - for this is no ordinary wedding...

Jenell and Andy will be getting hitched this fall on September 18th, 2010. Their reception will be whimsically held at the Delaware Museum of Natural History, which features a number of exhibits. The bride and I conferred about what type of cookie favor would best suit the location of her wedding and leave the guests with a memory of it's uniqueness. Among the options that were considered, dinosaurs were at the top of the list.

On display at the museum are two true-to-size replicates of dinosaurs, specifically, an Allosaurus and a Steggasaurus. Allosaurus is the correct term, but if you need a better picture in your head (as I do) think Tyrannosaurus. If you need and even better picture, see below for a practice cookie of the bride's pick for her wedding favors. Since the wedding colors silver, ivory, and black, skeleton's seemed like the best fit.

Stay tuned for more updates on Jill's first gig.
